Hey everyone, thanks for reading! I just wanted to let everyone know about a new organization starting up here in South FL, it's the South Florida Herpetological Society. We are a group of people who are reptile enthusiasts, fans, lovers, etc...starting Jan '10 we will be holding monthly meetings which will include guest speakers, presentations by organization members on various species, we will do field herping (not collection) trips all through out FL, we will do community events to help others learn about reptiles and decide whether or not a reptile would be a good fit for their family. We also do reptile rescue for those who cannot keep their herp buddies so they do not end up "out in the cold." All rescued reptiles will be rehabilitated and will have a clean bill of health from our exotics vet before placed in an adoptive home. No problem animals will be placed into homes, including poor feeders, overly aggressive animals, or ones with serious health issues which would compromise their quality of life.
