Penelope is assumed to be a female. We have never DNA tested her just took the pet stores word for it. The fact that this bird prefers Males over Females when both are present tells us its a she lol. Penny has a great personality and is very good natured. She loves to be held, but not really left out of her cage. She is approx. 6 to 7 yrs of age which is extremely young considering these birds live a 50 to 60 yr lifespan.
