GMC upgraded the XL Denali s power from the Vortec 5.7L to the more powerful, 320 horsepower Vortec 6.0L. A new heavy duty electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission provides greater fuel efficiency and includes GM s exclusive tow haul mode. Larger four-wheel disc brakes, a Dynamic Brake Proportioning DBP system, and four-wheel ABS ensure better stopping power. Interior enhancements include more passenger legroom, standard tone-on-tone leather seat trim, and a revised instrument panel. Exterior styling improvements utilize body-contoured halogen headlamps, wrap-around turn signal lenses, and a unique, single-piece bumper fascia. This 2001 Denali has a new transmission.
