Star is a great mare. She was raced as a two and three year old, has a speed index of 77 and earnings of over $8000. She is broke to ride off the track. I bought this mare in June with all the intentions to turn her into a barrel horse, but have not had the time, and I dont want this mare to go to waste. She is a very strong mare and knows she is strong, so she does need someone who is able to show her who is boss on the ground, she does have a few race horse bad habits, like walking while being saddled, she doesnt like to stand still to be saddled, but can be fixed, I have been working with this alot. I have only been walking and trotting her undersaddle as I have not found a big that has a good whoa with her, and I dont want to ask for a canter and then not be able to stop her. This mare has a great pedigree if you wanted to just raise some nice race or barrel horses out of her. I just dont want to see this mare go to waste, if she is still here in the spring, she will be going to a trainers and will be put on the pattern.
