Looking For African Grey Parrot
HI, I owned an African Grey in the early 80's. Her name was Flannel and she would say "Hello Flannel Flannel!" "Hey Paul" and "I love you" a lot, along with several noises like the phone and washing machines. She was stolen and I could not afford to spend another $1,000 to replace her, besides I felt she could not really every be replaced... I was heartbroken.
Now it is 30 years later and there is still a hole in my heart. I am now disabled and don't work anymore. I have some spotted doves and splendid and bourke grasskeets, parakeets and cockatiels, Lady Gouldain Finches and more, but they are out in the aviaries and although I enjoy them, it is not the same as my first true love, Flannel.
When I first got her the pet store told me she came right out of the jungle. She was wild and would growl and wanted nothing to do with me. With patience and love, she was soon my best friend. She would wake me in the morning and nuzzle my ear. If you have an African Grey and have given up on taming, please let me give it a chance. I would be willing to pay a re-homing fee or trade all my other birds for an African Grey. email me at
