This art case features the classic marquetry of Silas Kopf. The design depicts a
grove of pear trees through the various seasons, from bloom to mature fruit. The
piano is transferred into a marquetry canvas made up of thousands of individual
inlaid pieces of wood that together provide a realistic depiction of its
subject. The legs and case of the piano are framed in ribbon striped bubinga.
The marquetry also includes walnut, mahogany and cherry veneers.
