Night Watchman, Security Guard, what the difference?
A Night Watchman (or Watchwoman) are typically non-uniformed but licensed security personnel that lower the appearance of security without compromising the security itself. Night Watchman are either licensed investigators or security guards that work shifts individually patrolling your estate. The purpose of the Watchman is to patrol the grounds of the security area without bringing additional unneeded attention to the location. This allows you to keep a low security profile but secure location. Oftentimes an excessive security presence when not required will bring unwanted attention or curiosity to the location, this can perk the interest of potential criminals to wonder what is being protected. Our Night Watchman Services start at just $22.00 an hour and are available 365 days a year, hurricanes included. (Note: Services are restricted to West Palm Beach and the surrounding area.)
So what is a Security Guard / Officer? They hold a "D" and sometimes a "G" license issued through the Florida Department of Agriculture. Unlike a Night Watchman, they are typically uniformed and act to protect property by maintaining a high visibility presence to deter theft and trespassing. Security Guards often maintain entry and exit posts to control access to a secured area. They maybe required to observe surveillance video, alarms systems, lighting systems for any appropriate actions as designated by the client and or property owner. Security Officers effectiveness comes from the ability to establish a large professionally trained presence through appearance and is one best methods for securing communities. Like our Night Watchmen, Security Officers are only available within Palm Beach County Florida.
