material is not as heavy as flannel, but not lightweight linen, either. the buttons are made to look like shell (I have no idea if they are real) and one is missing at the base of the front placket
My daughter wore this when she was 5-7. Length from back of neck to hem is 30", width at underarms is 19", arm length is 19".
