Showcase valuable collections, sort craft
supplies, or create a beautiful shadowbox vingette from an antique letterpress
cabinet drawer. Vintage letterpress drawers were used in the 1800's for sorting
print type, but today we are much more creative than that! They can be mounted
on a wall or laid on a coffee table. The pictures are representational of the
drawers I have for sale. All are in excellent condition, and are unparalleled
for showing off your valuable collection of fishing lures, jewelry, figurines,
tiny toys, thimbles, or you tell me!

Each drawer measures 27-1/2 inches long
by 17-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/2 inches thick. The compartments are 1 inch deep.
The larger compartments measure approximately 2-1/2 inch long by 1-3/8 inch wide
and the smaller compartments measure approximately 1-1/2 inch long by 1-3/8 inch
wide.

Most drawers contain 98 natural wood compartments, although that number
may vary slightly without affecting the beauty or usefulness of the drawer.

For authentic charm and collectibility, I offer these antique items as is -
with original metal handles, often with metal drawer front facing, with extended
runners and original hardware intact. Some even have original printers' markings
and labels which add to the charm. For mounting on narrow walls or ease of use
as organizers, you can easily saw off the runners which extend just 5 inches
beyond the compartment space without affecting the functionality or aesthetics
of the piece. Many have the manufacturer's name on the drawer handle.
The color
and material of the drawer face may vary. Most are metal, but can be wood.
Browns and greens predominate. More than a century of careful handling by
generations of printers has bestowed a rich patina on each drawer. These drawers
are as sturdy and useful today as they were a century ago. Beads not
included.
