For buyers and breeders alike: Please test your puppies and adults for vWD with VetGen testing. It is the only accurate test for this veritable killer of dobermans. There are several breeders who are offering stud service with affected dogs who say they are carrier, and/or knowingly selling pups that are vWD affected by breeding dogs that are proven to carry one or both of the genes. Don't be fooled, demand to see test results on the dogs you are buying, and if the breeder can't produce the results, then work with a breeder who can. Don't buy from breeders who breed vWD affected dogs to untested dogs. That means they are also selling vWD affected puppies.
Our breeders are tested for many medical causes and are kept up to date annually with certifications. We do not show our dogs, but the dobie pups from the dobieden make wonderful healthy pets because of the years of experience and testing at our establishment.
Just because you find a breeder with a less expensive pup, doesn't mean you're getting a healthy one. Remember the adage "you get what you pay for" and be safe. Buy from a quality breeder who tests ALL their dogs for health.
