I see the ads every day, good dog needs a new home because... new allergies... moving to a new home... landlord won't let you keep him... and more....
The ad states that it's a great dog, loves to go for walks, gets along great, but needs to go to a home with... no children... no other pets... has a backyard... and more...
You get the dog home and realize that it's not the 'great dog' that the ad stated. The dog nips, or barks excessively, it escapes the backyard, won't let anyone near you, growls when you feed it, and more...
You felt that you were doing some good by rescuing this dog but now you don't know if you can keep it.
So there are only 3 options... read everything you can about dog training and decide to do it yourself, if you have the time, hoping that what you're doing is right and not making the dog worse... decide to find the dog another new home, putting the dog through even more stress, not addressing it's issues but passing it on from one home to another before it's sent to a shelter and possibly to it's death... hire a dog trainer to work with you and your dog, giving your dog a good chance at having a forever home...
But dog trainers are expensive and you don't think you can afford a dog trainer.
Let me help...
I am in the process of becoming
a DOG TRAINER and DOG WHISPERER (like Cesar). Both of my current javascript:void(0); are rescues and came with their own unique issues.
And our rates...
Our rates start at $35 which is much lower than most trainers ($60 and up).
We believe that dog training should be available for every dog owner.
We come to you.
Our sessions are 1 hr long.
There is no contract to sign for a minimum number of sessions.
Don't get discouraged and give up.
With some hard work, patience and time, you can have that 'great dog' that needed a new home.
Rescue work is hard but as I've experienced myself, it's worth it.
