My name is Annie and I am a DONA trained Birth Doula.
As your Doula I will be a source of information, support, and care to both mother and birth partner. My job is to help you, the mother, have the most empowering and fulfilling birth experience possible. My job is also to support your birth partner in supporting you.
I am a Doula who does not judge your birth choices. I do not have an agenda for your ideal birth. I am 100% comfortable supporting both natural and medicated births, in home or in hospital, with a midwife or a medical doctor. I am also 100% comfortable supporting a planned c-section. My job will be to make sure that you are educated in the different aspects of childbirth and interventions to ensure that you will be making informed choices.
My services to you will include:
Our introductory meeting is free. This is when you decide if you want me to be your doula! We then sign the contract.
o At least 2 prenatal visits,
o Helping you develop your birth plan,
o Education regarding comfort measures,
o Basic childbirth education,
o Childbirth Education Quick Reference Package specifically created for you and your needs,
o 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. phone support the moment I become your doula,
o 24 hour email support from the moment I become your doula (response within 12 hours)
o 24 hour phone support available for 2 weeks prior to your due date until the birth of your baby
o Attendance at your birth to provide labour and delivery support
o Work with partner and caregivers as a team,
o 2 postpartum follow up visits (around 2 hrs. each) that will include helping you breastfeed your new little one,
o And I am also available on the phone or via email afterwards for concerns or questions.
o In the case of a caesarean we will work together on supports required. Caesareans require just as much, if not more, support.
o A backup doula can be made available in case of emergencies (very rare)
