I’m looking re-home my TWO Shiba Inus to a loving person or family. My female Shiba is 10 years old and I’ve had her since she was a pup, she is very playful, loves attention and is intelligent. My male Shiba is 9 years old and I’d describe as the complete opposite as the female. He is very calm, mellow but still loves affection.

I love my dogs as if they where my children however I need to find them a new good home because I know it’s best that they have a owner that has the time for them that they deserve. They used to have the full run of a backyard and house but about six months ago, I moved into a condo. They have always been inside dogs and I used to let them into the back yard for their exercise. They do perfectly fine with a daily walk however recently, I haven’t even been able to provide them with that.

Both dogs are trained to live in a condo…they are considered Japanese apartment dogs. Currently, they use the bathroom on news paper and will always go outside if walked daily. Other details about their personalities…although they’re intelligent, they have a mind of their own meaning that in the house, they may be able to do dog tricks but as soon as they’re outside…it’s a different story. With this stated, you may never be able to walk them off a leash, and they love people 100 times more than dogs (so I haven’t been successful at dog parks). However, they get along great with my cat and Cacatoo although Shibas are natural bird hunters.

My male dog is overweight for a Shiba and has seizers occasionally. Since I’ve had them both since they where puppies, they go to the vet regularly, have always had their shots and are registered with the Contra Costa County Animal Control. I decided not to put my male dog on medication years ago because of the side effects and potential dangers of the medication.

It breaks my heart to have to re-home my dogs but I know it’s best for them and although they have each other, they deserve more human affection. I will of course offer their beds and toys/treats/food.

If interested in adopting BOTH of my Shibas, please tell me about yourself and living situation and why you think you could provide a good home for my Shibas. Also if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I do recommend you do your research on Shibas…once you live with them…you’ll know that they’re the best dogs in the world because of their personalities and they’re so cute. They are easy to care for but they are big shedders due to their double coat.

That reminds me that both dogs lost hair on their back side. My male Shiba had hair loss on his tale and my female Shiba lost hair on her hind leggs due to flea irritation. They didn’t have fleas but the vet said that it could have been one flea that irritated their skin, and they kept scratching. I recently put them back on their flea medication and the hair is growing back fine.

Okay…that’s it for now. I could go on an on about my Shibas because I had them so long and I love them but truly I’m trying to give as much vital information as possible to find the perfect fit. Maybe it’s with you!
