SMALL RAT RESCUE 21001/21040
Currently taking in any and all unwanted rats. I am not a breeder and not looking to re sell. Rats are cared for until loving homes can be found for them (if ever). Excepting males & females of Any age. babies & litters (under 8 weeks of age) must come with their mothers and a small cage of any sort. Expecting mothers must also come with a small cage. Rats are NEVER used as bait or food, and will never be turned down, no questions asked.
I have loved rats for over 7 years now, and have owned over 120 of my own. This does not include all of the rats that have come to me through the rescue. They are truly wonderful, and I love what I do!
I see lots of ads here for rats that are "free to good home" and that is a perfect way for snake keepers to feed their snakes. If you love your pet and Don't want it to be eaten, I would suggest going with a rescue and not a private party. Rescues like mine, screen all potential adopters before the adoption process is complete. When you take your rats to pet stores, they usually are what gets fed to the snakes in the store before they ever get a chance to be sold. And most rats bought at pet stores on a daily basis, are bought for feeding purposes. A pet store Will Not guarantee your rat will be sold as a pet, and if you don't check the homes you're selling/giving your rats away to, you can't guarantee that either.
