REMEMBER: Buying a non-AKC registered puppy is like buying a puppy out of the pound. You have NO guarantee the dog is purebred, no matter what the breeder tells you. YOU have no proof there is no WHITE or WHITE-FACTOR in that puppy's bloodlines unless they are AKC registered. The breeder is certainly not going to own up to that fact either, if they are trying to sell a pup with those lines in it. You have NO record of the pups' background health, no matter WHAT the breeder tells you. Buying a non AKC registered dog is taking a HUGE chance of buying a very ill puppy that a breeder is trying to get rid of. Why else would a breeder not offer AKC registration papers if both parents are AKC registered and come from "champion stock", or "champion sired". Please do your research and get your puppies from a qualified AKC compliant kennel or breeder. Make the breeder SHOW you the documents on the medical testing they have done on their dogs. Do not take ANYONE'S word without proof. It is a tough economy, and people are out there doing everything they can to take your money and sell you puppies. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and get a GOOD puppy that will live a long time and be a healthy companion for you.
