5 Mth Great 'Golden' Pyrenees Male - (928) 830-4883
'Golden Pyrenees' (American Canine Hybrid Club, Designer Dogs Kennel Club, International Designer Canine Registry, Designer Breed Registry) are very popular and common hybrid displaying the excellent characteristics of both breeds. 'Big Red' is a 5 month old Golden Pyrenees male (not neutered). He was born last October 25 so he's about 5 months old and already showing signs of becoming huge! His father is a pure bread Great Pyrenees and his mother is 75% Pyrenees and 25% Golden Retriever.
Big Red and his brothers and sisters were bread to be working dogs on the farm or ranch. Great Pyrenees are known to be the ultimate guardian animals for livestock but they are also incredibly great with children and people in general. (Big Red's father works full time here on our farm.) They love all other animals except predators like coyotes, mountain lions, bears and wolves. They will protect you, your family and your animals bravely and without fear. We don't have any coyote problems with our Pyrenees around. They eat them for snacks :)
The small amount of Golden bred into this Pyrenees litter is to try to keep these dogs more 'rooted'. Great Pyrenees are known to be wanderers but actually they are simply trying to find the boundaries of their guard area. Goldens, on the other hand, like to stay close to home and they have all of the other wonderful social skills of the Pyrs so it's a great hybrid mix.
Big Red is ready for a new home. He is socialized with people, many other dogs and breeds, cats, chickens, goats, pigs and much more. It's time for him to join his forever family and protect his own new flock.
The ideal situation for Red is guarding a flock or herd in a fairly large yard or pasture. He'll want to bond closely with his humans too but don't forget he was bred to be a working dog so please don't try to make him a house dog. He needs plenty of exercise.
