message njzoomom about this ad Buddy the Tortoise Needs a Home We are seeking a home for our Moms South American Red-Footed Tortoise named Buddy. He is full grown with a great personality. He is very friendly, a good eater, and in good health. He will happily follow you or other pets around outside and inside. Based on his size, and the rings of his scutes, Buddy is at least 18-25 years old. He is about 18 long, bigger than a football, and in the range of 12-15 pounds. He has some pyramiding on his shell from before Mom got him. He was found running wild in Virginia years back, and then Mom took him in. He typically spends the warm weather months in Moms fenced-in backyard. He has been provided a heated hide box during his outdoor time, and has had a large variety in his diet. Buddy is not fazed by other pets, and has lived with dogs and birds at Moms house. Buddy enjoys baths, grazing outside, lots of greens, and sitting under his heat lamp. Red-Footed Tortoises dont hibernate, and Buddy will need an indoor space in the winters. Buddy will come with his indoor table, which is built on a twin size bed base with storage drawers underneath, and all his supplies. This table will require two people to get it out of the house, as Mom wont be able to help you get it out. She uses reptile-specific substrate in his enclosure, and has both a light rig and a heated platform for him. Buddy needs the right home, where he can get protected outdoor time, warm indoor time, and great care. We would prefer someone experienced with tortoises/turtles/reptiles. Mom will want to talk with you, to make sure Buddy goes to a good forever home. There will be a re homing fee for Buddy, and all of his included items.
