Shetland sheep are a hardy breed with above average resistance to disease and parasites. They are an ancient breed originating from the harsh conditions of the Shetland Islands. They are small, fast, smarter than an average sheep, and known for their excellent fine wool, which comes in a variety of colors and textures. While primarily valued for their wool, they are also used for meat and milk. They are foragers of a wide variety of grasses, leaves, and small trees which make them a good choice for land maintenance. These sheep purebred from a registered herd, but have not been registered.
