I need to rehome my male Australian shepherd. He's approximately 4 years old. I've had him since he was a 5 month old pup. He is intact but never used as a stud.
He is good in a fenced yard outside with regular runs across the farm. Seems to have good herding instinct with cattle, but I have not formally trained him in that.
He's had some basic obedience training, and is a super fast learner. He is extremely loyal and devoted, craves your attention and wants so badly to please. We have horses, cows, cats and another dog. He is fine with them all. Although he prefers to keep his personal yard cat free, he's fine with them when we have him out and about with us around the barnyard. However, he will run off any animal that doesn't belong. He's fine with the other dog too - they play well together but he is fiercely jealous and would prefer to have all your attention to himself, so would probably live his best life in a single dog home.
Would make good watch dog.
