Looking for the right home for our 2 year old foster Cocker Spaniel -- $250

We are looking for the right permanent home for our 2 year old foster Cocker Spaniel.
He came to us at just 15 weeks old after being rescued from an Amish puppy mill, where he was going to be put down. He was incredibly sick with coccidia when we got him, so our first priority was getting him healthy and giving him the opportunity to learn that people could be safe.
Hes come an incredibly long way since then.
He is now a healthy, neutered 2 year old boy who is fully house trained, knows his basic commands, and does great with other dogs. He has never been around cats, so we cannot say how he would do with them.
He even knows housekeeping. If you drop something dog safe on the floor, tell him housekeeping and hell happily report for cleanup duty.
His start in life has left him with some fears that he is still working through. Loud noises, flashlights, shadows, and unfamiliar situations can scare him. Because of this, we do not believe a home with small children would be a good fit for him. The noise, sudden movements, and unpredictability that naturally come with little kids would likely be overwhelming for him.
He does great with older kids, and once he gets comfortable with you, he is an absolutely phenomenal lap dog. He loves being close to his people once he knows he is safe.
The right person for him will be someone with time, patience, and a willingness to continue working on his confidence and training. He doesnt need someone expecting him to immediately walk into a new environment without being afraid. He needs someone willing to give him time to learn their home, their routine, and them.
He is neutered and fully up to date on his vaccinations, which were just updated in July. Most are good for another year, and his rabies vaccination is good for three years.
He also has a beautiful, very thick Cocker coat that requires regular grooming approximately every 4 to 6 weeks. He is very well maintained with our local groomer. Keeping his coat clean and properly trimmed allows airflow through that thick coat and helps prevent infections. He has never had issues with infections because his grooming and coat care have always been consistently maintained. His new family will need to be prepared to continue that routine.
A $250 rehoming fee applies to help ensure he is going somewhere he will be properly cared for and that his new family is prepared for the responsibility and ongoing expenses that come with him.
We arent looking for the first person who wants a Cocker Spaniel. Were looking for the right person for this Cocker Spaniel.
He has already overcome so much. He deserves a permanent home with someone who understands where he came from, has the patience to earn his trust, and will give him the stability and care he needs for the rest of his life.
