They are sheared twice a year, and their fleeces go for $15-28 per pound.Very nice fleeces.The purebred Cheviot is sheared once a year. The mixes could also be sheared once a year. Sheep are flock animals and need to have a fellow buddy to hang around with all the time. Cheviots have better parasite resistance as lambs than purebred Icelandics. The rams would make excellent flock sires or fiber sheep. Cheviots bring more muscling to the Icelandic side.
