Summit is a very nice-looking ram and mild mannered. Summit is brown. He is Icey Shetland(50% Icelandic and 50% Shetland) Both are heritage breeds. They were born on March 16, 2025. They can be shown twice a year which they were just shorn.He was used for breeding this past fall, and the ewe had twins. His horns have be trimmed since it is growing towards his face. I believe he broke it as a baby or the Shetland must have had polled in it's lineage because the Icelandic was definitely not polled.
Shetlands have better parasite resistance as lambs than purebred Icelandics which makes the mixes a great choice since you get the colors and the resistance.
Icelandics are a heritage breed that does well on pasture and hay. They are sheared twice a year and their fleeces go for $15-25 per pound. Sheep are flock animals and need to have a fellow buddy to hang around with all the time
