message mlorenzo about this ad I know this may appear fruitless, but I am looking for info on a male eclectus I had as a teenager. His name is Gizmo. I do not know his subspecies. He is approximately 12-15 years old by now. He was not banded. He called him self "Gizmo-mo" or just "mo-mo" often and his favorite sound was that of the microwave beeping. He liked making sounds more than speaking and walked/climbed everywhere instead of trying to fly. He was not cage aggressive and had no self destructive behaviors. He loved having his beak held and rubbed but didn't really like other forms of physical touch. He always used to hang on me while I cooked and tried to taste test often. He was usually very social and generally friendly with most people. He was hand raised by me and was bonded to me. As a teen, I came home from school and he was just gone. When he was approximately 3-5, my mother "dropped him off at a rescue" and gave me no other information. She didn't tell me where she took him or why. At the time we were located in Adrian, MI and her name is Virginia. When she droped him off, he may have been scared or in a state of shock. He did not like her and was scared of her. She was very cruel to him. She did not take any of his belongings so it was likely just him she dropped off. The attached photo is the only one I still have of him but didn't want this post to be lost due to no photo. Thank you for reading. message mlorenzo about this ad |
