Meet Kyrie. Kyrie is an amazing family dog. She was wanted from the very day she was born and been loved every minute. Sadly, the mom who bought her and wanted to love her forever, has come to find out shes very very allergic to her. Its been mystifying and mom has tried everything for 8 months, but sadly nothing has helped. Kyrie has been amazing through it, but she has been interacted with less than she should and her training has suffered. She spends most of her time outside. While a very obedient dog and eager to please, she is young and unpracticed in many things. She gets very excited for human time and likes to jump. Shes pretty gentle with her favorite human, a 1 year old girl who likes to give Kyrie treats and giggle at being licked, but Kyrie still has limited time with her 5 tiny human siblings and needs work to not jump and be calm (I wouldnt want to be calm either if I only got about an hour a day with my favorite people
Kyrie is sure she is part wolf and as a baby refused many kibbles. Top brand quality kibbles of all flavors. It was very concerning with how thin she was getting so we tried the BARF diet with her (raw meat Weve kept her partly on kibble but she demands to be on a raw diet and will refuse food for days if not given a little meat. Just a chicken thigh a day seems to be the minimum she needs and shes been healthy and fit doing this and will accept a kibble breakfast. I mention this because SHE truly does need this and her adoptive family should be prepared to do this for her. The kibble we use is Taste of the Wild, Pacific Stream flavor but shed probably be fine with you changing that. Just be prepared for a stubborn eater who will prefer rabbit poop in the yard over anything you offer if you forget her meat.
Kyrie is fully vetted but because she needs her hormones to help her hips grow properly - she should be 18 months to 2 years before having her first "surgery She MUST have that surgery, but is still too young for that.
Kyrie is AKC registered and is show quality, but she just wants to be your best friend and live and protect her family. Just dont ask her to protect you from a vacuum cleaner.
Shes a quiet dog and only barks to tell you important things. Sometimes its too many pinecones attacking the roof, but usually its 3pm and shed like her meat. She doesnt bark at everything that moves but will watch and evaluate their normalcy. Abnormal things shes gonna tell you.
She is crate and potty trained. Great destroyer of toys. Loves a snuggle if you can wear out her excitement. Shes been around fireworks no problem. She does well on a leash but I wouldnt say leash trained as her human time is focused on running and playing.
Kyrie truly is a smart dog and picks up on things quick. She thinks a tad more human than dog, but listens well. We have used the word "nine" for no as thats the german command. She sitz and plots (lays down) too. Shes smart enough you can change the words for those and shed pick it up in a day.
Sorry for the ramble. We love her. We dont want her to go, but she deserves a family she can BE with. Mom here really is in pain daily even with all the meds and limiting exposure. Its not a quality life for a dog, especially one so smart and eager to work = love you!
Shes young and able to adapt to a family, or I image a farm. Shes a great balance of protector and lover.
*Asking 800 and she comes with 2 Large wire crates, food bowls, a tote full of new toys, her heartworm and flea meds (topical as its whats safest more new chews All her very spoiled things! We know this price is low for a black and red AKC baby, but we just want her to go to a good home.
