We have had her for over a year, and she is deeply loved. However, we believe she would truly thrive in a different environment with someone able to devote more one-on-one time and energy to her. She is a 3-year-old intact female Doberman, imported from Serbia, with strong European/working lines. She loves children and does well with other dogs when properly introduced. She has a good amount of energy but also knows how to settle and relax. She would be an excellent companion for someone active a great hiking, traveling, or adventure buddy while still enjoying downtime at home. She has lived her life as a house dog and is very people-oriented. She is an excellent watchdog and extremely loyal to her home and family. Because of this, she is territorial with strangers in her house and yard. She does best when new people are introduced outside first, which helps her adjust comfortably. Once introduced appropriately, she does well. In public settings, she is neutral and well-mannered. She does great on walks and does not react to people or dogs when out and about. She is current on all vaccinations, including rabies. Medical note (full transparency After having puppies, she developed a mammary gland that never fully went down. She has been evaluated by a veterinarian and it is not cancerous. The recommendation was to have it drained at the time of her spay, rather than putting her through two separate procedures. She will be placed on a strict, non-negotiable spay contract and will be rehomed with a fee. The fee is not negotiable and is in place to ensure a serious, committed home. We are extremely selective about where she goes. She will not be placed just anywhere. An experienced home familiar with Dobermans or working breeds is strongly preferred. Potential adopters should be prepared to answer questions about their lifestyle, experience, and plans for her care.
