Scratch is a 13-year-old female indoor cat who has spent her entire life as the only pet in a quiet one-bedroom apartment with her owner, Janet.
Janet is elderly, suffers from dementia, and can no longer care for her. Because of this, we are looking for a calm, stable, permanent home for Scratch.
Scratch would do best in a quiet household with one or two adults. She has lived a very sheltered life and is not accustomed to children, other pets, frequent visitors, or a busy environment. An older individual, retiree, or quiet couple would likely be an ideal fit.
She should be the only pet in the home.
Scratch is healthy, litter-box trained, and has always been strictly indoors. She is extremely shy with strangers and may hide at first, but she bonds deeply once she feels safe and secure.
Please note that Janet has lived very privately for many years and now suffers from dementia. We do not have complete veterinary paperwork or vaccination records available. Any adopter should expect to establish care with their own veterinarian and update vaccinations as recommended.
We are not looking for just any home. We are looking for the right home where Scratch can spend the rest of her life feeling safe, loved, and secure.
