My tiny teacup-sized Shih Tzus have an adult weight of 2 - 5 lbs. Shih Tzus this size normally go for $7000 or more, and Ive seen them as high as $15,000. The problem with most breeders is they will not give you a guaranteed weight, and if Im spending even 1/3 that amount, I want a guarantee! This is why I give everyone a 1 year guarantee that your puppy will be under 5 lbs by the time its one year. Shih Tzus stop growing after 7 or 8 months, but they can continue to add weight depending on diet. Puppies under 5 lbs are $5000, under 4 lbs, $7000, and any under 3 lbs f go for as much as $10,000. At 1 yr old, for every pound overweight youll be given back $1000! So, if your dog is 3 lbs over the guaranteed weight, youll get $3000 back. You see how that works? If a lower price is negotiated, you void any guarantee, so keep that in mind. Puppies go home around 8 weeks, but the ittle-bitty ones stay 10 weeks.
