This is not an easy post for us to make, so please take a moment to read everything.
Maya is our 4-year-old dog, and she is an incredibly loving, sweet girl who deserves a home that can fully meet her needs.
The biggest reason we are rehoming her is our current housing situationwe are struggling to find a new place that allows three dogs. Unfortunately, this has forced us into a decision we never wanted to make.
We also want to be fully transparent: over the last couple months, Maya has developed anxiety that has led to chewing behaviors. She will get into things around the house, especially when we are gone. This is something her new home needs to be prepared for and willing to work through. About Maya: 4 years old (3-5-21) Very affectionate and loves her people Enjoys attention and being close to her family House-trained She is up today on vaccines Important: She has anxiety that shows up as chewing She will need patience, structure, and consistency She may do best in a home where she is not left alone for long periods Experience with dogs and/or anxiety behaviors is strongly preferred Ideal Home: Stable, patient household Someone willing to work with her (training, routine, etc Not looking for a quick fix, she needs commitment
This is NOT about getting rid of her. We love her deeply and are trying to do right by her. We will be selective because we want her going to a safe, understanding, and permanent home.
