Meet Ruby Ann, a beautiful 4-month-old AKC Bloodhound looking for the perfect forever family. Ruby Ann was born and raised by me. She is from my first litter, produced by my 2-year-old AKC Bloodhounds, Skyla and Rooster. Both parents come from show lines, are OFA tested with clear health results, and are wonderful examples of the breed. They are also active in scent work, and I believe in keeping my dogs healthy, active, and mentally stimulated. I expect the same level of care and commitment for Ruby Ann. Ruby Ann is puppy #3 of 6 from her litter. Unfortunately, her original family decided they were not prepared to continue through the puppy stage and returned her after realizing that the initial puppy cuteness had worn off. Bloodhounds are incredibly loving, affectionate, and adorable dogs, but they are also an intelligent, independent, and stubborn breed. They require a patient, confident, and strong-willed owner who understands that raising a Bloodhound takes consistency, training, and commitment. They are definitely not a breed that can simply be cuddled and admiredthey will happily test their boundaries if given the opportunity! Ruby Ann is an absolute sweetheart. She is very affectionate and a little more stubborn than some of her siblings, but she is eager to please when given the right direction and consistency. She already knows sit, lay down, crate, outside, and paw. I am continuing to work with her on potty training. Unfortunately, it appears that while she learned some of the fun things during the two months she was with her previous family, she did not receive much consistency when it came to potty training. She is making progress and will need a family willing to continue working with her patiently and consistently. Ruby Ann is looking for a family who understands the Bloodhound breed and is willing to put in the time, structure, and training she needs to become the wonderful companion I know she can be. She is a sweetheart, but she is also smart enough to figure out how to work you if you let her! Ruby Ann will go home with: AKC paperwork Veterinary records/proof of care Up-to-date vaccinations Up-to-date deworming Flea and tick prevention Microchip, which can be transferred to her new owner A 40-lb bag of Diamond puppy food Bed Toys Treats and chews Leashes Collars Harness Sweaters and plenty of clothesshe is quite the little diva! And more I want to make sure Ruby Ann goes to the right family, not simply the first family interested. Her future home needs to understand the commitment that comes with owning a Bloodhound and be willing to continue her training, socialization, exercise, and mental stimulation.
