message shadowrose about this ad Male dapple chimera dachshund, 1 year old. Potty trained (he will tinkle when excited or scared) leash trained, recalled trained. Knows basic commands (sit, go lay down, stay, potty) He comes with bed, indoor enclosed kennel, indoor wire kennel, car seat, car buckles, shampoo, brushes, bowls, travel food and water bottle, toys, nail trimmers, treats, and an entire bag of food (we use the 45 pound bags of diamonds naturals salmon skin and coat He will come with his shot records as well and is up to date on everything until September 2026. He is not fixed. He gets bi-weekly nail trims, baths every 4-6 weeks and weighs 11-12 pounds. He is a really great dog. He is an awesome alert dog and will bark when he hears something outside or will bark to let you know people are near the car. He is highly intelligent but also highly stubborn. We changed his name when we got him and he picked up on it new name QUICK. It took us only calling his new name for three days. He is weary with new people. When he is backed into a corner where he cannot escape, he might snip at them (I only say snip because it really isnt a bite. One of my friends tested it out to see if he would bite. He growled up until my friend had their hand directly in his face then he grabbed one of their fingers and then let go. That is the closest thing to biting as he has done It takes about 30 minutes to an hour for him to get used to someone before he will willingly come up to them. But thats also as long as they arent going crazy around him. We recently took him on a 17 hour long car ride and he did fantastic. We stopped every 3-4 hours to fill up the tank and let him potty, drink water, and eat. He met a lot of new people, got to enjoy the beach, ran around with kids, and experienced being around other dogs. With health conditions requiring us to be gone from home for days at a time and a huge move coming up soon where we are moving from the country with land to an apartment with no land, we are trying to rehome him to someone who would enjoy him and will be able to run around with him or play with him. He LOVES to play fetch. we are hoping to find someone who has kids for him to play with or who is always home. He is a Velcro dog, he wants to be right there with you. He loves to be held and be pet. He loves blankets. To the point he pulls the blanket off the back of the couch on top of him just so that he can lay under the blanket. He will either sleep in his kennel or sleep under the covers with you depending on how much you move in your sleep. He loves to go on car rides, loves to watch tv with you, and just loves to be with you no matter where. We are hoping to find home a good home. He is NOT free. His fee is reasonable for his breed, everything coming with him, his vet bills (he wont need to see the vet for 11 months almost an entire year) etc. However we arent asking much for him at all. Please reach out if you have any questions. message shadowrose about this ad |
