Can travel to Wilmington for the 4th
XL Bully pup seeking new forever COMPANION home Reasonable fee applies. Forgive me now for this LENGTHY post. Trying to be as thorough and up front as possible.
This is not a rush, I will be picky to a reasonable, responsible extent. Not FCFS. There is a reasonable fee to recuperate feed cost. This is gonna sting me, but it's why I do what I do. I love this girl's soul and will offer free grooming/nail trims or to take her back at ANY point in her life, shall it not work out. About:
Ava is a lover girl. She is an XL American Bully who I took in some weeks ago now, from an unfortunate situation where her brother and sire had to be moved out of quickly due to ill threats against them, from someone in the previous household. She was (to my knowledge) an intentional litter, says the tail docking.
Ava is crate/kennel trained, but she has not had much free range inside my home. Mostly just out in the yard, and our few fishing adventures together. She had her tail docked by the previous owners, but ears are still intact. She will vocalize to let you know when she has to potty!
I did not intend to keep her this long, but life has been rolling and I dealt with a behavioral euthanasia with my 3rd oldest female unexpectedly and shortly after acquiring Ava.
As far as I am aware, she is not UTD and will need to start a clean slate with your vet of choice.
She has thin fur/skin, and came with a nick or few from rough housing with her brother when I got her that are healing well, but some have already came back as white spots. She is getting accustomed to the dremel for nail filing/trimming, and I am working on collae/leash pressure every time I find time, but my hands are full.
Ava was born January 30th. There IS a rehoming fee, but it is reasonable. If you know me, Bullies and APBTs are close to my heart. She will not be handed off to just anybody. But if I know you, no sweat. Really just hoping to make back on what I have with her in food, and hoping the fee deters the wrong crowd.
Ava has ridden on a motorcycle, noise doesn't seem to phase her. She is unbothered by poultry and smaller animals, but does get bored and displays that spunky prey driven terrier drive if left near them for too long! She hasn't been given the time or chance to have an ill interaction with any of mine, just circling my pheasant cage and yipping a few times but I normally call her off or redirect. She is a fun, hardy puppy! Recall could be better, but we're working on that also.
She and her brother were developing litter mate syndrome/had already had it strongly when I acquired her. It's taken her time to realize she is an individual who can like and choose her own things. It's been a joy watching her shy submissive self integrate in to my pack of 6. She is passive and submissive with other dogs.
A little bouncy and starting to teeth on hands, but again, I am working her as we speak/daily. Really she is a love bug. She is agile, knows how to prance and spring like a deer, and not really clumsy at all. But she does find her way in front of me from time to time for attention, so we have to watch that.
With the right owner/handler/new home, I know this girl will make a phenomenal companion for someone. I will bathe her and dremel her nails again before placing her. Pros: Kennel/crate trained (I can include a temporary and or possible long term wite kennel for no extra charge, if desired Leash training Lifetime of FREE boarding, grooming, or take back offers at ANY time no questions asked. Nail trims? Last minute outta town trip? No problem. I'm no breeder or rescue, but I stand behind what I take in and place. I made a commitment and have some attachment to this beautiful soul! Knows her name, though shouldn't be hard to change if desired Laid back overall and food motivated! Catches on to routine and is a smart girl. Should be fun to trick train, maybe even see if there's dog sport potential as she ages Gets along with cats and dogs of all ages, genders, and spay/neuter status. She is shy and submissive though playful. Reads other dogs fairly well. Has only stiffened up to my older male Chihuahuas over food once, but easily let it go and had the problem removed to avoid conflict Some poultry exposure but needs more training to teach her those are off limits when bored Stay consistent, it's possible! I can ensure this stops/is nipped in the butt if desired before leaving my care. Not phased by loud scary noises, has ridden a motorcycle a few times and heard gunshots at a distance. Usually in her own world looking for a companion. I argue she's partially velcro but is learning to be independent. Phenomenal fishing or adventure buddy! Potential for a fun sporty dog? Has food drive. Just NOW learning toys and what they are. Agile and not clumsy, but a complete derp. She is beauty, she is grace, she has hops and thinks she is Bambi Cons: Not UTD on vetting and shots (but can be managed by me, if covered by adopter before)
* Mom and dad are pictured * I expect her to mature around 65-75lbs. Parents were not your stocky set American Bullies definitely more leg and Terrier stature. Ava currently lives in Hope Mills, NC, (situated nicely between Fayetteville/Bragg and Lumberton along i95 BUUUT, I have no problem traveling to meet up to an hour or hour and a half out for the cost of gas in my tank and time. Anywhere between here, Aberdeen, Wilmington/Castle Hayne area, and Conway/Myrtle Beach areas of SC I'll gladly see about accommodating for gas.
If you would like any shots/vetting on her before meeting or bringing home, I can happily transport to a local vet if the potential new owner covers said expense!
She is an easy, moderate to beginner level pup. Though with the leash training needing more, and the fact she does get bored and curious about flighty poultry (that is both actively being worked with training wise but consistency will always be key She has a nice foundation despite such, yet obviously isn't free of fault. She's an animal with her own brain, figuring out life and her footing. Keep in mind, her first 4ish months of life she was at her brother and daddy's hip, normally inside or in a kennel so she didn't get to learn and experience the stuff the next pup might have. I have enjoyed watching her blossom in to a young teenager, though. She's just now coming up on growth spurts, haha.
* Let me state it now and be clear She is NOT being offered as any sort of reputable breeding prospect, and is only being offered as a companion/family pet! Definitely not "just a friend" for your current dog (come on guys, that's a rookie and child's mistake if you aren't well seasoned though she is phenomenal with all other dogs, genders, and ages, thus far! I prefer her go to someone with similar breed experience (Terrier, Bully, APBT, other larger more driven breeds or a handler/owner that is a little more experienced/serious and committed. This does NOT mean she would be a horrible family pup, or starter dog. So this is not a deal breaker it would simply make my paranoid, iffy mind more comfortable.
