Rich is a Belgian Malinois Dutch Shepherd mix. Shes a really chill, laid-back dog whos smart as hell and learns fast. Shes very attached to her person and naturally likes staying close, following you, and checking in. Shes not one of those dogs thats constantly going crazy or demanding attention at home shes perfectly content to sleep, relax, and chill in her crate.
Shes still young and has been learning basic obedience. She knows her name, is learning sit/down, and has been working on recall, leash walking, and staying close to her handler. She picks up new things pretty quickly once she understands whats being asked. Shes also very athletic and has gotten really confident with jumping over obstacles and exploring new environments.
Shes not extremely food or toy driven yet, but shes starting to get more interested in playing and working with her person. She enjoys walks, exploring, and playing fetch, and shes beginning to understand that interacting with her handler is part of the fun. She has some natural herding tendencies and may try to control movement with her body or mouth, so continued training is important.
Shes generally calm around people and has been improving with socialization. She can get excited or reactive around certain dogs and has shown some interest in chasing/fixating on moving cars, so she needs someone who will continue working on those behaviors and wont give her unrestricted freedom right away.
Shes affectionate once she trusts you and really bonds with her person. Shed do best with somebody active, patient, consistent, and willing to actually put time into her training. She has a lot of potential and would make a great companion for somebody who wants a smart, athletic dog that they can build a real bond and working relationship with.
