This litter wasnt handled until they were weaned because mom kept them hidden so well however they can be handled carefully but are mainly look at pets. They have a diet similar to sugar gliders including a need for tree sugars (I give mine pure maple syrup and honey They are also insectivores just like sugar gliders and will enjoy fresh or dried mealworms and crickets. I mostly make them a homemade diet every evening which consists of bugs, syrup, eggs or meats like chicken or fish on occasion as well as fruits veggies and some seeds mixed in. I also supplement their diet with sugar glider vitamins and minerals as well as a sugar glider kibble/bug/fruit mix. They do not glide and are best kept in a 10 gallon or larger glass tank with plenty to climb and hide in. These guys are much smaller than sugar gliders which hopefully the pictures convey so cage bar spacing may be too wide hence the suggestion of a glass tank with a metal top. You can use sugar glider pouches with them to work on socialization which I am doing but these are fast little guys so they need someone with some time and in a secure area in case they try to get away. They have never bitten me but they do have tiny mouse like teeth. They also have fluffy tails like a squirrel which is super cute. They are mostly nocturnal just like sugar gliders. Basically, if youre well versed in sugar gliders and are curious about something different; this may be a new friend for you! No rush to rehome this little one and would be willing to trade if anyone else out there has any other micros. I also have a new litter that was born on Christmas Day that in two weeks I will start socializing.
