message thardy143 about this ad Looking for a loving home for Spike through no fault of his own. He is 2 years and 9 months old (born January 3, 2023 -NOTE! -You must have other dogs! He absolutely needs other playmates or has horrible anxiety. Would do best with children! And would do best with somebody like a mom who is home all the time. A busy home is best for him! Spike came from a surprise litter when my dog was impregnated by my friend's young pup. Every puppy was adopted with a contract that required they be returned to me if their new family couldn't keep them. That's how Spike came back his family was moving and couldn't bring him. At the time, we were also in the middle of selling and relocating out of state, so now that we're settled, I'm searching for the perfect home for him. Spike is great with both cats and dogs, though he especially loves small dogs. He loves my big dog too and if your big dog is the lazy ignores him type he will be great but spike doesnt care for the agressive dominant large dogs. He's a total cuddle bug who thinks he's a lap dog and knows his name very well. He is microchipped and I have his records to transfer. He received all of his puppy shots but is currently due for vaccinations. He is not neutered, but I do have a contact willing to assist with getting that and his shots taken care of for his future family. One important note: Spike does have separation anxiety A wonderful woman tried him for a week, but since she worked and he had no playmate, he struggled. He has never been crated and does not tolerate it well. Here, he has other dogs and I'm usually home, so it's not been an issue. Another couple tried to take him for a day as well and again no playmate. They attempted to crate him too. He freaked out in a panic attack and got out of it when they left him alone and chewed the bottom of the door. They said they could hear him crying from outside when they pulled up. When they pulled up to my house, I opened my door and he ran right inside with my dogs and I could shut my door with him inside alone with the dogs and he doesnt ever scratch at the doors. This is something we have never dealt with. So we learned he absolutely needs other dogs! He has never been without another playmate from his home before I got him back until now. After talking to the vet, he absolutely needs a home with other playmates. Its whats causing his anxiety being left by himself. If you decide to give Spike a chance and it doesn't work out, he is always welcome back He is such a sweet, precious boy, and I want him to find the most perfect forever home. message thardy143 about this ad |
