message slockhart about this ad Age: 1 year Sex: Male (Neutered) Weight: 70 lbs Location: Owosso, MI Rehoming Fee: $100 Contact: Text Steve at 989-627-8800 Looking for a smart, loyal, and high-energy dog with real working drive? Meet Hank, a 1-year-old male Catahoula Leopard Dog whos ready to put his instincts to work and join the right family pack. Catahoulas were bred to herd wild boars in Louisiana, theyre tough, intelligent, and made for action. Hank is no exception. He'd make an excellent hunting dog, farm dog, or outdoor companion for someone with the space and experience to guide him. What Makes Hank Special: Great with kids - currently lives with two young children who adore him Highly trainable - knows sit, stay, lay down, and go to your cage Crate-trained - but loves couch cuddles when allowed Vocal & expressive hell talk to you with his own goofy personality Active - loves long walks, hikes, runs, and being out in nature Neutered, microchipped, and mostly up to date on shots (may need distemper booster) Hank is a loyal, affectionate, and protective dog, but recent changes in our home have created some challenges. Since my wife became pregnant, Hank has become increasingly uneasy around her. Shes the only person he seems unsure of. When I'm not home, he tends to growl and keep his distance from her, clearly needing space. He's never bitten or harmed anyone, but this behavior is something we take seriously. Hank clearly sees me as the pack leader and responds very well to structure, consistency, and confident leadership. He'd do best with someone who understands dominant or working breeds. Like many young dogs, he still has a bit of puppy energy and curiosity, including the occasional habit of chewing things that aren't his if left unattended. With continued structure and supervision, he has a solid foundation to build on. Ideal Home: Experienced dog owner (especially with dominant or working breeds) Farm or large property preferred Active lifestyle: hunter, hiker, outdoorsperson No pregnant women or uncertain pack dynamics Why Were Rehoming: This is a tough decision. Hank is an amazing dog, but our home dynamics changed with my wifes pregnancy, and he's not adjusting well. We want to give him the chance to thrive in a better-fit environment. Ready to meet Hank? Reach out and tell us about yourself and your home. The $100 rehoming fee is simply to ensure commitment and the right placement, Hank is worth far more than that to the right person. message slockhart about this ad |
