We are seeking a responsible, experienced home for our 2-year-old female African Boerboel (solid black who has been part of our family since she was 10 weeks old. This is not an easy decision, and our priority is finding the right long-term placement for her.
She is a healthy dog, potty trained, crate trained, and very food motivated. She thrives on routine and structure and is a true creature of habit. She currently has free roam of our fenced .75-acre property and naturally takes on a protective role of her home and yard. She is OK with chickens roaming around her yard and is a great guard dog.
She has primarily been the only dog in the household. While she has had a few positive interactions with smaller dogs, she would likely do best as the only pet or with a very experienced owner who understands proper introductions. She has not been exposed to cats. She has had minimal leash training, so continued training and confident handling will be important.
Ideal home:
Experience with large/guardian breeds (Boerboel or similar preferred)
A securely fenced yard (no apartments)
Someone comfortable with a protective dog and able to provide firm, consistent leadership
A home committed to continuing training and providing structure
She has never been bred and has not had puppies.
We will be carefully screening potential adopters and may ask questions about your experience, home environment, and plans for her care. Our goal is to ensure she is placed in a safe, stable, and knowledgeable home where she can continue to thrive.
