message njzoomom about this ad Sadly, I need to re-home my pet South American Red-Footed Tortoise Buddy.He is full grown with a great personality. He is very friendly, a good eater, and in good health. He will even follow you around outside! Based on his size, and the rings of his scutes, Buddy is at least 20 years old. He is about 18 long, bigger than a football, and in the range of 12-15 pounds. He typically spends the warm weather months in my fenced-in back yard, howeverthis spring I had a bear come into the yard several times.I am terrified to leave him out there now and that just isnt fair to him. Please do some research on what it takes to own a Red-Footed Tortoise before contacting me. He needs a large (at least 4 x 8) indoor enclosure for the winter as Red-Footed Tortoises do not hibernate. Specific lighting, heating, substrate, a heated hide box, etc. A very large, safe outdoor area to graze; must have access to sunlight, shade and water all day.A heated hide box for those chilly nights is also a wise idea. Red-Footed Tortoises eat a varied diet, including fresh greens, vegetables, and fruits, and he will need high calcium greens as well. As I said, please do some research! Buddy will come with his indoor table, which is built on a twin size bed base with storage drawers underneath, and all his supplies. This table will require two people to get it out of the house, as I would not be able to help you get it out. I use reptile specific substrate in his enclosure, and have both a light rig and a heated platform for him. Buddy needs the right home, where he can get protected outdoor time, and great care. I will want to meet and talk with you, to make sure Buddy can go to a good forever home. There will be a rehoming fee for Buddy, and all of his included items. message njzoomom about this ad |
