message msrandolph about this ad I am looking to rehome my 10-month-old deaf Great Dane, Opal. Rehoming her is the last thing on earth I ever imagined doing, and I am completely distraught over this decision. Recently, while I was away from the house, Opal and my oldest Dane got into an altercation. It has permanently changed the dynamic between the two. They now have to be separated 100% of the time, and that is no way for any of us to live. Examining the situation, I believe it was as simple as her not hearing Frankies cues, as any other dog would. Opal is my baby. I do not want to rehome her, but Im left with no choice. I refuse to isolate her to a few rooms for the rest of her life. Shes still just a pup, and she doesnt understand why everything has changed. Opal is an amazing dog. She communicates with about ten simple hand signals. She is housebroken, great on a leash, and she listens. She will be around 170 lbs fully grown. Shes absolutely gorgeous. Her confidence was shaken after the altercation, so I am looking for a very specific home. Im looking for a stable home with a very secure backyard, as she doesnt hear recall. Although she never leaves your side, it is simply too dangerous for her not to have a fenced yard. We are looking for a home with no other female dogs and no young children, as she has never been exposed to kids. Young adult children may be considered. I am looking for someone who will love her the way I dosomeone who prioritizes their dogs and protects them. She will come with a strict contract. She is not to be bred. I am not a very religious person, but I have never prayed so hard for a safe resolution. I pray this message reaches the right person. I am completely devastated by this entire situation. Any state, Ill get her there personally. I just need to know shes safe. message msrandolph about this ad |
