These animals are often referred to as "American Wolfdogs" or "high content wolfdogs Most can be registered under the breed name "North American Indian dog These animals possess an absolutely authentic, pure wolf physical appearance that makes them ideal wolf models for professional film, photography, wildlife education and ambassador work. Animals from this bloodline are routinely used for such work in many locations around the globe. However, these animals are NOT pure wolves and are actually many, many generations removed from any pure wolf cross! Careful selective breeding of this bloodline guided by a trained zoologist began in 1986 using established lines and has continued uninterrupted until today. There have been many generations of strict selective breeding, always choosing animals for their authentic, pure wolf physical type; intense, wild wolf appearance of the head and eyes, lean, athletic body type, long legs, huge feet, thick, shaggy coat in winter shedding into a short coat for the summer, etc There is also strict selection for an extremely affectionate, "happy" character (which is the single most important characteristic of this bloodline always breeding to maintain sound genetic health.
