Body: On our 175-acre working pasture in Olaton, KY, the rhythm of farm life dictates the day. This is where our Anatolian/Pyrenees young guardians begin their journey. Born Christmas Day, they were immersed in the scents and sounds of our flock from their very first moments. In the weeks that follow, they stepped into their true calling, living amongst the sheep, learning the subtle language of their flock and how to appropriately approach them. Moving with the stock, absorbing the land and its needs, witnessing the miracle of new lambs, learning both the tenderness and the necessary corrections from their experienced mentors, having interacted with chickens and exposure to cattle and horses who share their fields allow them higher adaptability to new stock. Here, on our farm, these creatures are more than just animals; they are an integral part of our ecosystem.
