message grandoakses about this ad At eleven months of age, Hondo is a large, affectionate pup with a herding drive. He would thrive with work to do and farm activity. We think he will be over 70 pounds when he matures. He loves to go with us to do farm chores with both cattle and chickens. At 6 weeks old, he was trying to move the cows and hens. He is a happy dog with a touch of stubbornness and a love of belly rubs. Hondo is friendly and happy when he meets new people. For reasons unrelated to this dog (probably economics we have not sold Hondo or his brother. Unfortunately we have had very few inquiries about the remaining pups in this litter. They are fantastic dogs, and they will be wonderful companions and helpers for their new families. We will worm the puppies twice before they leave our farm. Additionally, we do not vaccinate the puppies because we prefer to allow each new owner to make that decision for their puppy. About the English Shepherd breed: As both companion and working dogs, the English Shepherd excels at gentle protection and quick intelligence. Also known as the "farm collie, English Shepherds enjoy being with their people, thus earning them the nickname of English shadows. One of the characteristics we most like about the English Shepherds is their temperament. This particular herding breed is frequently called English Shadow because the dogs like to be with their owners. They tend to be laid back when compared to a Border Collie and without being high-strung like an Australian Shepherd. Generally, English Shepherds do like to know the rules/expectations and to have everything in its place. About our English Shepherds: Our dogs are raised on a small farm with various livestock and are thereby accustomed to the natural world. They are both companions and co-workers on our farm. Regarding our puppies, we strive to provide resilient and healthy dogs suitable to both town and country living.
